April 17

From Ghana to Morocco is 8 days on the ship- this is the longest
stretch since japan! Its been really nice out which makes it hard to do
work- I havent had too much but have exams and final projects all due so
its starting to pile up!
A few things I have done in the past few days
-my friend lucas (the one who calls me mama) put on a presentation
called "hunger banquet" and at the beginning you pull a card out with
your income level and are served a meal according to what you are. I was
low class so only got rice. the presentation was really well done and
the discussion was also really good especially given all the places we
have been to and all the poverty we have seen. i was also really proud
of Lucas for putting so much time and effort into the presentation and
giving us advice on what we can do to help.
- another star session where we got to see the moon up close because it
was full (sad because it was the last full moon of the voyage).
professor campbell has the absolute greatest accent and loves telling
the mythological stories!
- presentation from the inter port student on Morocco- got to hear about
her favorite things to do and places to go and just some general tips
and recommendations for morocco- i am getting so excited!
-yoga outside at sunset- i cannot believe this is the first time i did
it. they have it a few times a week and it is taught by a student who is
a registered yoga instructor and she is so good and inspirational and
peaceful. It was so relaxing and peaceful with the gentle rock of the
ship and the wind but doing some poses was hard when the boat would rock!

today is bridget's birthday so i decorated our room and wrote a card,
etc. sort of funny turning 21 on this trip because it means absolutely
nothing! Tonight we will celebrate with ice cream and i am going to try
to write an essay for english! Thank you again to my sisters because I
have been enjoying the robin eggs and magazines they sent quite a bit in
the past few days!!
